Nyakarenzo station is located in the south western corner of Rwanda in Rusizi. The region borders DR Congo and Burundi and has a shoreline along Lake Kivu. Coffee growers from this area produce great coffees. Cherries are delivered to this station by approximately 500 growers from surrounding areas who have an average of 200 coffee trees per grower. Nyakarenzo’s growers have very small plots of coffee, even by Rwanda’s coffee sector standards. Only 3 growers have more than 1,000 trees.
